Challenge: Love Yourself (W1.D1)
I’m trying out a little experiment. I have this app on my phone called “Coach by Cigna.” It partners up with S-Health on my Samsung Note 7.
(Sidenote: No need to worry about my phone blowing up. I definitely took advange of the Samsung Exchange Program. So I’m safe… or so they say. *wink* And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, do a little Google search about the Note 7 recall.)
Anyways… Back to the app.
When you sign up for it, you set up a profile and do a little quiz about yourself and rank your focus. It all helps the app to recommend different programs for you. You don’t have to only do those. You can choose from quite a selection.
You can rank the focus items what makes sense for you.
- Exercise
- Food
- Sleep
- Stress
- Weight
Here are some examples of the Programs for you to choose from:
- Fitness HeadSMART
- Hydration
- Anti-Diet
- Colorful Eats
- Fit Travel
- Good Night
- Gotta Run
- Love Yourself
- Mindfulness Practice
- and more…
So today I decided to try out one of these programs. I’m starting with the one called “Love Yourself” by Coach Jenn. It’s a 2-week program designed to help build your confidence from the inside out. Coach Jenn says, “All changes in weight-loss efforts need to be backed with a strong sense of self and a belief that you’re worth taking care of. It’s only from a place of self confidence and self care that true change can happen and new habits can be built.”
This program is designed to help you build confidence, make healthier choices, and listen to the subtle cues your body is giving you, while working on the issues holding you back from being your best self. So I’m gonna try it.
This is Week 1, Day 1. There are two tasks for today.
Task 1: Set a Baseline
Gage your current level of self-love. What are your feelings about eating right, working out, and taking time for you? Rate yourself on the following items. Give each one a number between 1 and 5 (1 being Disagree and 5 being Agree)
- I have workouts that I enjoy doing. (My rating: 4)
- There are a variety of healthy foods that I eat regularly. (My rating: 4)
- I take time for myself most days of the week. (My rating: 4)
- When I feel stressed, I use healthy ways to cope. (My rating: 1)
- I feel rested and energetic on most days. (My rating: 2)
Task 2: All About the Journal
Journaling can be a great stress reliever. Give it a try. Putting pen to paper engages the analytical side of your brain while sorting through your thoughts activates the creative side. That makes journaling a good activity to quiet your mind, solve problems and feel more calm. Jot down your motivations and intentions for this program.
My Entry for today:
Loving myself has always been a problem for me. There are times that I may put on a cute outfit and some great shoes and feel pretty good about myself. Unfortunately, that usually only lasts until I pass a mirror or see a picture someone took of me. I struggle with feeling good about myself on a regular basis. I’m hoping this 2-week challenge can help me work on some of my issues. I want to make changes in my life that get me to where I want to be, both physically and emotionally.
